Check Out Doug’s Automator Actions for iTunes

Tiger is here, and we’re just starting to discover all the neat things that you can do with it. I’ve been playing with Spotlight a lot (and promise an article on some of the little-known tricks and tips for using it really soon), but the first thing I’ll mention is Automator, Apple’s method for simplifying its AppleScript.
As usual, AppleScript maven Doug Adams is first out of the gate with some nifty Automator actions for getting the most out of iTunes and Automator. You can download Doug’s Actions for iTunes, vol. 1 for free, and start fiddling with Automator, using these actions to create workflows to convert files, choose an encoder, copy tracks to a playlist or an iPod, create bookmarkable files and more.
While you’re at it, check out the built-in actions in Automator for iTunes. Sorry, if you’re a Windows user; you’ll just have to feel bad about all the things you can’t do. Or switch to a Mac…
