>I have a similar issue. My normal music smart playlists still update
dynamically.
However, in iTunes these playlists don't display anything I have downloaded
via the new podcast feature. I have also set up some new smart playlists to
include podcasts (they appear to all have a genre of 'podcast') but again
nothing is displayed in the playlist.

>But - and here's the thing I don't get - they do appear under the correct
playlist in my iPod (even though they don't show in the same playlist in
iTunes).

Yes, that's what I'm seeing. Even if you try to make a smart playlist for Genre
Is Podcast, it shows nothing. Very strange.

As for smart playlists not auto-updating on the iPod, this is indeed what I'm
seeing on my upddated 4G iPod. I'm assuming this is a bug that will be fixed;
I can't imagine that Apple would have removed this basic functionality.

Does that make sense?

Thanks

Ah? I haven't seen that yet... (Haven't used my iPod today.) I'll look into it and
see if I can find an answer.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get back the dynamically updating smart
playlists on the iPod? This latest updater seems to have broken that function.
