I've never seen Amazon mark down any Apple software. You'd have to buy something used on, like, eBay or others if you want a cheaper price.

If you have Tiger and don't want iLife or iWork, it would probably be much cheaper to buy a Leopard CD, maybe used, and the Snow Leopard CD. Then you could just update to Leopard and then immediately to Snow Leopard. Of course, if your Mac is old enough to not have Leopard on it, you may consider if it would be more economical to just wait until you get a new computer that will have Snow Leopard (and iLife) pre-installed on it, which you will probably need to do soon anyway.

Do you know if Amazon would mark down the price of Snow Leopard by much if you wait until after the release instead of pre-ordering?
