Because I've been through this with my Apple TV before, and I've spent many hours restoring it and resetting it, and I'm not planning to spend that time again for this device, which I don't use very much. So I did a restore and all's back as it was, clunky interface and all, but usable. I like the new UI a lot better than the (awkward) previous 2.x interface. The "My" options are now easily accessible instead of being buried at the bottom of the menus. All-in-all a nice upgrade. Had to go and untick a few things to get enough of my library on it. BTW the updated iPod Touch / iPhone remote app is pretty impressive.
