Apple’s Big Deal: The Beatles on iTunes
Ok, so this is a “day we’ll never forget?” Apple adding The Beatles to the iTunes Store? Sure, it’s a big moment for Steve Jobs, and The Beatles were the last big band to not sell their music digitally, but seriously?
You can buy a digital box set of their music from iTunes for $150; you can buy it on CD from Amazon for only $130, and the package is nicer.
I like The Beatles; I bought both the stereo and mono sets early this year on sale from Amazon France. (And I’m listening to the first album as I write this.) But given the difference in cost between the CD versions and digital versions, you’d be a fool to not buy the box set on CD.

Here’s a thought. Apple chose to announce the Beatles catalog by inviting everyone in the world to hit their home page at 10 AM EST this morning.
Maybe the real announcement was “the new data center is up and running”. No news means Apples servers can handle an insane amount of traffic.
I wonder where the “data center” is being backed up?
Maybe it isn’t a big deal, but 16 november can be regarded a big day in history. In 1938 Lysergic acid diethylamide was invented by Albert Hofmann

Also, on 16 november 1963 the Beatles played in Bournemouth, UK.

Footage of that show was the first time the Beatles were on TV in the U.S.
Just my two cents.
