Fare Thee Well, Steve
Steve Jobs has announced his retirement as CEO of Apple. It’s been quite a ride. Thanks for everything, Steve.

Oh, Kirk, you sound so final…understandably so, I suppose. It’s my very humble opinion that he may have been THE most influential human of the 20th Century, and I can’t think of anyone more influential so far in the 21st.
Let’s join together in sending a collective beam of best wishes to the Jobs household and another equally powerful beam to all who comprise Apple.

He’s certainly the most influential business person, and person in the tech industry. He’s been responsible for creating or refining products that have become everyday items.
“or refining products that have become everyday items”
You mean like using socks as cases for iPod, right?
Actually, I still use one of them for my iPod touch. :-)
Some try to compare Gates with Jobs. In my view Gates got lucky, IBM needed a nerd and he was in the right place at the right time but has never actually brought successfully to market any real innovation. As one magazine recently wrote, most great designers are remembered for one thing and live off it for the rest of their lives – Jobs has four at Apple alone.
The world will miss his excitement and the anticipation of not knowing what was next from him.
I wish him well and will continue to support his wonderful products.
