Someone asked, so here’s a photo of what I see from just outside my house. It’s a panorama pic taken with the iPhone 5. The clouds in the sky put the light balance askew; I’ll try to take another one when there are no clouds so you can see the mountains a bit better.

No, just higher mountains. I think it’s the blue sky and the clouds that contrast badly that give you that impression.
A superb view Kirk! If memory serves me from your days on the Nisus list it’s somewhere in the east of France. Am I correct or is age playing havoc with my memory?
I know you can’t be too precise as to whereabouts but I’m interested to know.
