I have a large classical music library, and I have been reviewing CDs for MusicWeb International for a dozen years, and have a good knowledge of classical music. I’m interested in many different types of classical music: early music, lieder, opera, piano music, and new and contemporary music.
I’ve launched a Twitter account, iTunesClassical, where I’m highlighting new releases, and lesser-known recordings, that are available on the iTunes Store. I’m not just tweeting Apple’s RSS feed, but making personal choices about music that I think people will be interested in.
I’ll be tweeting about new recordings that I find interesting, older ones that I know and love, and others that I stumble on as I peruse the iTunes Store. I tweet affiliate links, which earn me about 5% of what readers purchase, but this doesn’t change the price you pay. I’m hoping that enough people will find this interesting to pay for my time digging up recommendations for great classical music. If you like my recommendations, please tell your friends!
Record labels interested in providing me with CDs or downloads of new releases can send me an email. But I won’t tweet about a recording unless I like it, or feel that others will want to know about it. And I’ll continue posting reviews of recordings I really like here and on MusicWeb.
